AIRMaster+ Software Tool for Improved Compressed Air System Performance

The software tool models the supply-side of a compressed air system to identify efficiency improvement opportunities. Using plant-specific data, the free software tool evaluates the operational costs for various compressed air equipment configurations and system profiles. The software provides estimates of potential savings gained from selected energy efficiency measures and calculates the associated payback periods. In evaluating energy savings potentials, the software takes the following efficiency actions into consideration: reducing air leaks; improving end-use efficiency; reducing system air pressure; using unloading controls; adjusting cascading set points; using an automatic sequencer; reducing run- time, and; adding a primary receiver volume.

Additional benefits offered by the tool include:

  • development of a 24-hour metered airflow or power data load profile for each compressor;
  • Calculation of life-cycle costs;
  • Tracking of maintenance histories for systems and components.
